Chinese Motor Standards (GB) vs IEC / NEMA

Understand how our GB series motors map to international IEC and NEMA specifications.

In China, motors are named by national standard (GB) series - such as Z4, YE3, YKK, TYCP - rather than by IEC or NEMA frame numbers. Overseas buyers often ask what these mean. This guide maps each series to the international values that matter for selection: IEC 60034 frame and efficiency class, power range, voltage and typical application.

How we build to your standard

  • Specify internationally - send power (kW), voltage (V), speed (r/min), efficiency class (IE2 / IE3 / IE4), frame and application.
  • We match the series - we choose the right GB series and build the winding, frame and cooling to meet your requirement.
  • 50 Hz or 60 Hz - motors are designed for the destination grid frequency and voltage (e.g. 380 V / 400 V, 460 V / 480 V).
  • Certifications - ISO9001, ISO14001 and CE, so units are accepted in overseas markets.

Not sure which standard applies to your market?

Send us the application, power, voltage and speed, and we will quote a motor built to your local standard.
