Why price alone is misleading
An industrial motor runs continuously for years. A few hundred dollars of price difference can be dwarfed by a year of electricity and downtime. A reliable motor manufacturer competes on honest parameters, matched duty, customisation and after-sales, not just unit price.
The 6 points to check
- Certifications: ISO quality system, CCC / explosion-proof where needed.
- Complete parameters: power, voltage, speed, IP rating, insulation class and duty clearly stated.
- Verifiable testing: can they provide factory inspection / type-test reports.
- Customisation: non-standard voltage, special mounting or shaft.
- Lead time: stock or build-to-order, transparent production schedule.
- After-sales & warranty: how long, on-site support, spare parts availability.
Match the manufacturer to the category
Categories differ a lot: low-voltage general see YE3 three-phase; DC wide speed range see Z4 DC; high-voltage large power see Y HV and YKK. Know your category before shortlisting.
Don't trust 'rankings'
Many 'motor manufacturer rankings' online are sponsored placements. A better signal is: do they build your category, have relevant cases, and give professional selection advice? A supplier who quotes without asking about your duty is usually a red flag.
Buying tip
Send load, voltage, speed, duty, mounting and whether you need a VFD or explosion-proof feature together, and ask the manufacturer to provide a selection + quotation. A supplier who can justify its selection is worth talking to.
Wangpai Motor covers low-voltage, high-voltage, DC, PMSM and explosion-proof categories. Send your duty and we will give professional advice.
