Why motor power (kW / HP) matters
Choosing the right motor power rating is the first and most important step. An undersized motor overheats and struggles to start the load; an oversized motor runs well below its rated point, wasting energy and lowering power factor. For most industrial loads, size for the full-load requirement plus a margin for start-up and any extra torque.

How to size a motor
- Know the driven load and its starting torque: pumps/fans start lightly, crushers and cranes need high starting torque.
- Add a safety margin (typically 10–15%) above the full-load requirement for voltage dips and start-up.
- Check the duty cycle (continuous S1, intermittent S2/S3). Frequent start/stop or heavy duty may need a larger frame or a DC / wound-rotor motor.
- Match speed and torque to the load; if you need variable speed, pair the motor with a VFD-compatible or permanent-magnet (PMSM) design.
Which Wangpai series for each application
General-purpose LV: YE3 premium-efficiency up to around 200–250 kW. High-voltage & larger MV: Y / YKS and YKK / YR (wound-rotor). Energy-saving variable speed: TYPKK / TPTYC PMSM. Precise speed & high starting torque (cranes, mills): Z4 DC and ZZJ800.
