Why frequency matters
Motor speed is directly tied to supply frequency: at 50Hz a 2-pole motor runs about 2900 rpm, while at 60Hz it runs about 3500 rpm. If you order the wrong frequency, both speed and power are off, and the machine underperforms. So the first step before export is to confirm whether the target country uses 50Hz or 60Hz.
50Hz vs 60Hz
| Frequency | 2-pole speed | Typical regions |
|---|---|---|
| 50Hz | ~2900 rpm | China, Europe, Southeast Asia, most of Africa |
| 60Hz | ~3500 rpm | USA, Canada, Japan, Korea, parts of the Middle East |
How to match for export
- Confirm the grid frequency (50 or 60Hz).
- Confirm the voltage (e.g. 380/400V, 460/480V).
- We design the same series for the right frequency so rated power and speed meet local standards.
- Using inverters (YVF, YPT) gives a wide speed range and more flexibility.
Summary
50/60Hz is not a small difference. Tell us the market, voltage and frequency, and we match the right series such as YE3 or TYCP PMSM, so the motor is correct on arrival.
