The right motor depends on the job
Almost every machine that moves runs on an electric motor, but the best motor changes with the application. Here is how to pick one for each big industry.
Water & irrigation pumping
A pumping motor drives centrifugal and submersible pumps. A typical irrigation pump uses a 22 kW or 30 kW motor; bigger mains need a 75 kW motor. Pumping drives are usually 380 V three-phase. The high-efficiency YE3 series is the common choice.
Ports & hoists
Crane and hoist drives need high starting torque and frequent reversing. A crane motor is normally a DC drive - Z series or ZZJ - from about 45 kW at 1000 rpm up to a 130 hp class; the largest port cranes run a 200-300 horsepower motor.
Steel mills & rolling lines
Rolling-mill auxiliaries use the ZZJ rolling mill motor, which takes shock loads. A rolling mill motor for this duty is often a 400 kW (or bigger) DC drive with wide speed control.
Cement, conveyor & bulk handling
A conveyor motor starts a fully loaded belt, so high starting torque matters. Common sizes are a 40 kW motor, 3 phase or a 50hp 380V three-phase, up to larger Y high-voltage motors for long lines.
Fans, blowers & HVAC
Industrial fans use three-phase motors - for instance a three-phase motor 3x380 20hp 14kW or a variable-speed YPT servo. We can match a 15hp or 60hp unit to the air volume and pressure.
Traction & special machines
An AC 3 phase traction motor and other drive machines often use a three-phase motor with pure copper windings for higher efficiency and cooler running - buyers commonly ask for a motor 15hp pure copper build.
